The answer is - yes. Swelling can persist for many years in patients who have much thicker nose skin. In some cases, accutane may help to shrink this skin down - but that is a joint decision made by you and your rhinoplasty surgeon.
Dear Mike0016,Swelling may persist after 3 years, but it could also be time that you can do something about itSteroid injections can thin the skin, especially around the tipAccutane is another great treatment to thin the overall skin of the nose. Typically, you need to take the medication for 6-9 months and the results are permanentBest,Dr. Nima
Swelling after rhinoplasty, especially revision rhinoplasty, can definitely take more than one year to settle. Changes are seen to the parents of the nose even years after the original surgery depending on the technique used. Thick skin takes longer for the edema to settle. However at three years it is unlikely that there is much Adema that needs to settle. Please follow up with your surgeon. For persistent edema I like to inject of Small doses of kenalog. You may also be a candidate for skin treatment with laser resurfacing or accutabe and can consult a skin specialist. Lastly the most aggressive option would be another revision surgery where the muscular layer around the nose is reduced to make the nose skin less thick. Please make sure you see a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who is familiar with this level of revision surgery if you are interested. I wish you the best and hope this helps, Dr. Ardeshirpour
At least one year. Depending on the age and skin of the patient, the scar may stay red longer. It will never be gone, just better. Dr. Peter Neumann

Dear Realself user, It is way to early for you to be worried about the thickness of your nose. Give yourself more time since the swelling will reduce alot within 2 months. Keep in mind that it takes up to a year for the nose to set completely. Best of luck! TAS Aesthetic Surgery Clinic
At the one year mark after your previous rhinoplasty you could have a revision with addition of cartilage grafts from your septum and probably also requiring rib cartilage which could restore your profile and some of the width of the tip. You cannot completely recreate your old nose but could ...
It sounds like a little too much bone was removed from the upper bridge of the nose, which can result in a depression or indentation in this area. It is unlikely that the bone will regrow and replace that which is missing. It takes about a year for all swelling to resolve and it will be wise to...
Typically, the grafts will remain in place and maintain their correction over time. The one exception is the use of ear and rib cartilage that can warp slightly over time but the bulk of the material typically maintains the correction and if it is fine at five years, it should remain at ten or...
