Botox 2 weeks ago and having nausea, constipation and lost appetite. Is this normal?

First time Botox 2 weeks ago. 4 hours after injection stomach turned, an urge to vomit for several hours came. Took and still taking Zofran for nausea. Weight loss, only smoothies/crackers/soup. I am healthy 43 y/o female, exercise regularly, live a clean lifestyle no drinking, smoking, coffee, etc. In rare cases I have read these side effects can last some time. Can anyone suggest how long it will last? What underlying condition can I look into, considering the side effects I am having.

thank you for your question. This could just be an unfortunate coincidence time wise as ultimately this wouldn't be an effect of Botox,  I would advise contacting your doctor for a review if symptoms persist to rule out any other underlying issue.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having.  It is likely from a different cause other than Botox.  I have not heard of symptoms such as this after receiving Botox.  I recommend seeing your primary care physician for treatment.

While nausea is seen in some rare cases for a short time after Botox injection, I do not believe your symptoms 2 weeks after your treatment are related to the Botox. I would followup with your primary care physician.

While it is impossible to say without an exam and history you should be definitely following up with your injector.  They can file a report with medical affairs at Allergan and see if anyone else has had similar treatment reactions.  It seems extremely unlikely to be related to the Botox however I never say never...  Good luck feeling better soon!

It would be very unlikely that the symptoms you are experiencing are related to your Botox treatment.  More than likely it is a temporary viral illness that shouldn't last much longer, but if it continues you should see your physician.

Your symptoms are unlikely related to your injections at this point. While nausea is an uncommon side effect of botox injections, these symptoms typically present within the immediate aftermath of the injections and dissipate soon thereafter. I cannot imagine a mechanism by which botox injections into the muscles of the upper face would cause these lingering symptoms. Your nausea and constipation may be caused by a more serious condition, and you should speak with your primary care physician about possible causes.
