BBL - when 40% (or whatever the exact percentage is) of the injected fat dies, does it affect your existing (natural) fat?

in most cases 30-50 % of transferred fat is lost after some time, but it should have no negative effect on your fat. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello, thank you for your question. the fat transfer to your butt in order to obtain more projection should not damage your existing fat. I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for proper evaluation. 

The fat transfer does not affect the actual fat where it’s being injected but can leave problematic outcomes when done poorly.It cannot leave you with less fat or a flatter bottom than when you started.It can potentially lead to undesirable outcomes from someone grafting fat were you really didn’t want volume, too much fat being grafted, fed grafted in a way that leads to palpable fat necrosis with hard possibly painful nodules.When done correctly these things should not and do not happen.I suggest having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with this procedure.Successful fat transfer delivering consistent results as a fairly steep learning curve before being mastered.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

In general, the answer to your question is no, even though some of the transferred fat to the buttock may resorb over time, this should not affect your natural buttock fat.  It is highly unlikely that your buttock would end up being flatter after a BBL procedure.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
