I am 6 weeks post-op and still uneven. 385cc Natrelle. My right (your left) is a lot higher and tighter than my left breast. I have been massaging both breasts but I’m not sure how aggressive I should be with it. Nothing hurts, just still very firm and slightly sore. Is this normal and when should i expect it to even out? I am right hand dominant.
Answer: When will they even out? It is early, but looking at your photo, it doesn't look like you should be worrying. Your symmetry looks quite good, though examination is needed. As others have said, 6 months is a good time frame to expect to be at or near your final result. Remember, they were not perfectly symmetrical to begin with, and slight differences are normal. Be patient and follow up with your surgeon.

Answer: Early asymmetry following breast augmentation 6 weeks is very early in the healing process. With tissue relaxation and maturation you will have ongoing improvements for at least six months. Your breasts appear very normal for this time and should not require any additional treatment or intervention other than time. An appointment with your surgeon would be appropriate to obtain reassurance.

Answer: Stop Massaging Hello,Implant displacement (massage) is proven to be ineffective at preventing or treating capsular contracture, the most common complication of breast augmentation. Surgeons who still prescribe it are not practicing with evidence to guide them. Surgeons who adhere to scientific principles do not prescribe massage and enjoy a much lower rate of capsular contracture than the average surgeon. If your issue does not improve within 6 months, you may be a candidate for a revision surgery. Be sure your surgeon is an ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeon who specializes in revision breast surgery. Best of luck!

Answer: Healing takes time and your tissues will stretch as you heal and things do get softer. I do not appreciate major unevenness... in fact I think your appearances are great and if you were my patient, I would not have any concerns at all. I do believe in massage in helping with settling and softening so I tell my patients to do that. If your surgeon does not, continue with his instructions as your surgeon is ultimately responsible for your outcome when you are healed.... and he/she should want the absolute best that you can get.

Answer: Breast tightness Thank you for your question. I tell my patients it takes approximately six months to see their final result after a submuscular breast augmentation. It is also very common to have slight asymmetry in softening from side to side. This has to do with handedness, differences in the thickness of the muscle on each side, and any pre operative asymmetry. If you are doing your massage as instructed by your surgeon, then all you need is a little time and a lot of patience. You will get there! As always, contact your board certified plastic surgeon if you have more concerns.
