I just got a breast augmentation 6 weeks ago & did not want a large gap in between breasts (Photo)

1. At 6 weeks, your implants are still immobile and “squished” by your muscles flat against your chest. They will soften in the next 6-12 weeks, allowing you to more easily push them together to create cleavage. When I first got mine done (400ml) I thought they were small. 3 months later I fit into a 32F bra. Years later, they are between a D and DD. 2. Assuming your surgeon lifted your muscle as much as safely possible, a wider implant may only give you more “side boob” than medial fullness. This is impossible to determine from a photo, and sometimes it can only be seen during surgery. 3. If you release too much muscle medially, you risk symmastia (uniboob) that’s hard to fix. 4. For patients with natural separation of the breasts that is not improved by implants alone, fat grafting can be done to fill in the cleavage. This uses Fat from somewhere else on the body to improve fullness of the inner and upper breast. Bottom line, be patient until 3-6 months before being really critical about your result. I tortured myself for 3 months straight, and things looked entirely different by that time (aka:I worried about nothing!). If you decide to upsize, it will be better to wait that long anyway. 

It is too early for you to determine whether or not this is your final result. There are certainly restrictions based on one's anatomy, but before surgery, a woman and her plastic surgeon should look at photos together to determine whether or not the goals of the patient are realistic based on her anatomy.  Most women are concerned about a wide gap between the breasts and there are ways in which a significant gap can be avoided. Please share your concerns with your plastic surgeon, but remember this is early. You may be very pleased with your results once your implants have completely settled. 

Thank you for your question. It is still too early to determine your final result. Your skin envelope will continue to stretch and the implants will settle further. Often patient want implants to give more cleavage - while this is possible it is not advisable to place implants too medially or off center from the nipple as this will direct the nipples outwards giving an unnatural and undesired result. You implant and nipple position are appropriate. If you would like more cleavage you may have to pick either larger or larger and lower profile implants to fill that space. Good luck!
