I'm 34. Am I too young for mini facelift? (Photo)

More and more women in their 30s are doing mini face lifts.  The advantages are that it can correct early jowls that result in a square lower face appearance and it can be done under local anesthesia in the office.  The incisions are less extensive and in this young cohort they heal imperceptibly.  If you have weighed the risks and benefits carefully, it may be a good procedure for you.

Thank you for the question and your photos. I agree with the general assessment of the other experts -- your issues seem to be in the chin/jawline projection. This is best addressed with a combined pre-jowl and chin implant. You are a bit young still for invasive surgical procedures. Best of luck!

Most mini facelifts could start around $5,000 but every doctor has their own prices. Go for a consultation and ask the doctors what they recommend for you and how much it would cost.

Thanks for posting your photo and question.  An in person exam is really needed here to evaluate your aging three dimensionally.  It is possible that a mini facelift would help with the fullness seen in the lower face. IF there is enough skin this may help and again an exam is required.  However, other procedures may help such as radio frequency, buccal fat reduction, and/or chin augmentation. Please see an experienced board certified facial plastic surgeon.   

Based on your photos, it appears that you would benefit from a pre-jowl implant or a pre-jowl chin implant. In addition, you may want to consider a non-surgical tightening procedure, such as Ultherapy before considering a Mini-Lift. While I pay less attention to a patient's chronological age and more attention to the facial anatomy (bony structure, skin laxity, muscle tone and volume) when considering whether a patient is a good candidate for a mini-lift, I would recommend considering some less invasive options before trying a mini-lift in your case. Based on your anatomy, I would actually first recommend a chin augmentation.  A chin augmentation would help create balance between your defined midface and slightly less-prominent chin (I am assuming you are of Asian descent).  This procedure would cost less, have less potential complications, and have a quicker recovery.  A minilift on a younger patient with thicker Asian skin is a set up for potential scarring.  A chin augmentation may give you the look (and balance) you want with much less risk.  Of course a chin augmentation would unfortunately not address any looseness of the facial skin and jawline.  

Chin augmentation and filler for weak chin and early aging is all you need now. See an experienced surgeon for these procedures. This will give your face the balance you need.
