Is 1.5cc of Radiesse enough to provide the desired fullness in my cheekbones? (Photos)

Hello, community, I just booked a Radiesse treatment for next month. I have always been insecure about my lack of pronounced cheekbones, and have concluded that Radiesse is the best treatment for me at this time. I want very high and pronounced cheekbones, but I am not certain that I can achieve the look that I want with the amount of product that my surgeon will be using. He told me that 1.5cc is what he finds reasonable to use on BOTH of my cheekbones. I am in the first photo. Many thanks, Dom

Dom,In my opinion, you would get a better, more natural and longer lasting result with 1.0 cc of Voluma rather than 1.5 cc of Radiesse.  You may eventually want a 2nd cc of Voluma, but you will see an instant effect from 1.0 cc.  Good luck!

1.5cc of Radiesse is definitely a good start. After having the first injection wait a couple days for it to settle and then see how you feel. You can always add more.

Each patient may need a different amount of a filler to obtain the desired result.  I would recommend going with your doctor's advice and using 1.5cc of Radiesse for both cheeks and then wait a couple of weeks to see how you like it.  You could always add another syringe later if you wanted more augmentation.

Cheek volume often takes more than one syringe of any product. However, Radiesse gives more lift and longer term results. Thank you for your question, from the pictures you provided it looks like you would benefit from a “cheek lift” with Radiesse. Depending on how much volume and lift you would like is the amount of filler the provider would need to use. Since it is your first time 1.5cc sounds like a good start you can always follow up in 2 weeks with your injector and fill in more if needed. Best of luck!

This is a very hard question to answer but I think it is always better to err on the conservative side, particularly with a filler like Radiesse that cannot be dissolved. I think 1.5cc (one syringe) of Radiesse is a great place to start and if you find that you want more later, you can do so. It is easier to add than subtract in the case of injectables. Everyone is different, so for you 1.5cc could be perfect, whereas for someone else (maybe the are lacking some bone structure on one side that is not easily visible) it may take two syringes. Again, I think it's great that you doctor is starting out with one syringe and I'd advise you to try that and see how you feel before considering adding more.

It would be very unfair to make a comment based on the provided photographs. Moreover, depending on your facial features it may be a mistake to aim for the same cheeks as in the example you have provided. It is very common misconception that everyone may have cheeks, lips, or jawline as someone who you may like or admire. Every single aspect has to be taken in the context of the entire face. Someone's lips may look aesthetically disturbing when applied to someone's else face. In summary, aesthetic enhancement - yes, copy not.

i assume the first picture is you but it doesnt show enough; however, the amount of material depends on what the baseline looks like. I have used 1.5 cc Radiesse before with good results but sometimes it takes more. be sure you see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is well experienced in the use

It's enough to start and it's probably what I would recommend.  You may want more than that but you can always come back for more later (let's say, at 3-4 weeks after the initial treatment if you're not satisfied) but you cannot, of course, undo what's been put in.  You should speak with your own plastic surgeon about this but that's most likely what I'd suggest.  I hope that this helps and good luck, Dr. Alan Engler, Member of #RealSelf500
