I got botox administered about a week ago for a dimpled chin, while the dimpling is improved but not gone, I noticed that when I frown I have this horrid bump that juts out. Is this normal? I never had this before the tox was administered.

Answer: Go see your doctor The quality of the photo does not make me confident in the reason for the bump, and I am unable to compare it to your "before" picture. It is possible this is a deep bruise, an infection, or a partial response to the Botox, causing compensatory strengthening of the untreated area. This would result in the muscle perhaps balling up. I do not think it is serious, but this is not an optimal outcome and it needs to be fixed.

Answer: Botox in chin Thanks for your question. There are a few possibilities but it could be due to only partial paralyzing of the mentalis muscle or over paralyzing the muscle. How many units were used and how many injection points were used? Was this an experienced injector? This is an advanced technique so be sure to get an experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon consultation for recommendations and treatment options.
