I had lower back liposuction before and the doctor did not remove all the fat. He said he needs to keep at least 10% so the skin doesn’t wrinkle. I gained a bit of it back and doing it again and he mentioned he won’t remove it all, leaving 10%. Does this makes sense? Do doctors leave some fat? I prefer it all removed
Answer: Percentage of fat removed during liposuction Liposuction removes fat from an area, but all the the fat can not be removed. If it is the skin will not sit properly and will wrinkle up and stick down to the underlying tissues making the area look terrible and not allow the skin to move properly.

Answer: Depends on the patient. The amount of fat that can be removed during liposuction varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including the patient's body type, the number of areas being treated, and the patient's overall health. In general, liposuction is typically performed to remove between 5-10 pounds (2.3-4.5 kg) of fat. The goal of liposuction is to contour the body by removing pockets of stubborn fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. It's important to have realistic expectations about what liposuction can achieve, and to discuss your goals and concerns with a qualified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Fat removal During liposuction the surgeon is challenged with the skill of removing enough fat to give a nice result, but leave enough behind to avoid contour irregularities or other issues. Your surgeon is better able to explain what you should be able to expect in terms of results after an examination and in person visit.
