Botox Nausea and Flu-like Symptoms. Is this common?

Hi, when I get Botox for my forehead, I have always historically gotten a headache. The last few times I’ve developed nausea and flu-like symptoms day of that last a few days. Is this common? I am considering my future treatment options as this seems less than ideal.

Botox injections are generally well-tolerated, but they can occasionally cause side effects. Headaches and flu-like symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, and fever are reported by some patients, although they are not very common. These symptoms usually occur within the first few hours or days after the treatment and typically resolve on their own after a few days.The exact cause of these side effects is not fully understood, but it is thought that they might be related to the body's immune response to the botulinum toxin, or due to the needle injection itself rather than the Botox.If you are experiencing these symptoms consistently after your treatments, I would recommend discussing this matter further with your provider. They might suggest adjusting the dose, changing the injection technique, or trying a different neuromodulator to see if this reduces your side effects.

Headaches are sometimes reported by patients after a Botox treatment.  They tend to last a few days and are treated with over the counter pain relievers.  The other symptoms mentioned are uncommon, but can occur.  Switching to a different neuromodulator, or even a different injector may help.

Hello! A headache and reaction like yours have been reported. You may want to switch to another product such as Dysport or Xeomin. You may have a better response and less symptoms than with Botox. Hope this is useful!
