Fat necrosis can occur after any kind of breast surgery. This can lead to calcifications and sometimes even fluid collections. Based on your situation, you can consider having it aspirated to help alleviate your symptoms, but it is important to know that it may recur.

If there is fluid collection you can either have your surgeon or a radiologist aspirate the fluid with a needle. It may need to be done more than once. The fluid should be sent to a lab for evaluation

If you do have fluid, you can have the radiologist remove it with a needle. Fat necrosis does not look like breast cancer on mammograms and is very distinct. The lumps would have to be excised if you want them removed.
