Thank you for your question. A tummy tuck can indeed be performed in conjunction with a labiaplasty. Patients often schedule these types of procedures together on account of the convenience of only have to go through one surgery experience instead of two. I recommend seeking out a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in both tummy tuck and labiaplasty to set up a consultation. Best wishes!
Thank you for your question, yes these 2 surgeries can be done at the same time, an in person consultation would be best for a detailed exam and evaluation.always see a board certified PS.
dear Patient: thanks for your question! I get this question a lot in my practice. Thr answer is YES! It is absolutely safe to have both procedures done together, and its actually benefitial for the patient, since 1) The recovery for the Tummy Tuck, which is a little more tedious, would take care of the labiaplasty recovery 2) The cost of combining the two procedures together will save you significant money, since you are already under general anesthesia for the Tummy Tuck, thus the Labiaplasty will cost you half or less than if you had it done alone. The most important factor to take into consideration would be to choose your Plastic Surgeon accordingly. Make surre he is 1) Board Certified by the Academy of Plastic Surgery BAPS 2) Member American Society for Plastic Surgeons ASPS 3) Fellow Academy College of Surgeons FACS 4) Member American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ASAPSAlso, your surgeon should listen to what your aesthetic goals are, and explain to you all the risks and complications, and your should both agree on realistic expectations of your Procedures! Whether you CAN have these procedures together (you can) or you SHOULD have these procedures together are two different questions, and the decision should be yours alone after understanding differences in recovery, cost, and other details between having them separately vs. simultaneously. I’ve done them together for some patients, but most often separately. Labiaplasty can be accomplished under local anesthesia, tummy tuck is always general anesthesia. Doing them separately demands separate (but different) recoveries, simultaneously is one single (but slightly more difficult) recovery. Results over the long term not likely to differ.
Dear td1779,Some plastic surgeons may want to split this into two operations depending on the time needed. Its best to see a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine your options and whether it would take too long, more than 4 hours, to do all.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
My tummy tuck patients often take catheters home with them and I will remove them in 2 days. A check up of anything else is done at the same time, including the tummy incision and removal of the pain buster pump (which I do use). Labiaplasty limits intimacy for 6 weeks and recovery from a tummy tuck can take up to 6 weeks so the timing is a great match. Find a surgeon who is qualified with the labiaplasty as you don't want to be amputated down there as is seen too often here on realself.com
Thanks for reaching out! You can absolutely have these procedures done together! Maybe start by going on a few in person consultations with experienced board certified surgeons. Best of luck! Dr. Kachenmeister
Yes, you can have these surgeries combined. Labiaplasty is relatively straightforward and only adds 20-30 minutes to the surgical time. The advantage of combining these procedures is that you only have one recovery period and you can get an optimal improvement. Speak to some board-certified plastic surgeons for in-person consultations so you can discuss your options.
Tummy Tucks and Labiaplasty are both parts of a Mommy Makeover. They can be performed at the same time to limit downtime, recovery, and inconvenience. It is totally safe to do them together. Make sure you see a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to do these procedures.Good luck
Absolutely. These two procedures can be performed safely during the same operation. Most patients prefer to do so, as opposed to undergoing two operations, the benefits of a single recovery and decreased expenses. My best advice: select your plastic surgeon carefully. Make sure that he/she has significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with. Then, communicate your goals carefully, as discussed above. Working together you will come up with a good plan to achieve your goals Best wishes.
Good morning, TwinMommy2016. Congratulations on your TT! I, like your plaatic surgeon, like the marble (or an oval bead) for the belly button. As to how long one needs to do it, or how much benefit an individual patient will realize, varies significantly from patient to patient. Generally, the ...
Every plastic surgeon has their own personal recommendations when it comes to post-operative care. Make sure that you are following your surgeon’s instructions to ensure the best results. We recommend consulting with your doctor to further address your concerns.
