Is this swelling after neck lipo normal? (Photos)

Question

I had neck lipo 8 days ago. At day 2 my neck definitely looked better. Now one week and a day post op I am swollen and look worse than before the procedure. I have worn the compression garment almost all the time. It's not really sore but so many postings indicate most people have good results quickly. The swollen area is relatively firm. I have an appointment tomorrow. Is this just a matter of patience or should I be concerned?

It is too soon to tell what your final results will be, this is normal. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression garment (if applicable) to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. At 8 days it is normal to be swollen you need to continue to wear a compression garment to help with swelling just be patient and follow up with your PS.

Things do tend to look really good when first dressing comes off. I would recommend you see what your surgeon says. Sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Medication like aleve, ice and massage may also be helpful.

Swelling after liposuction is standard.  In fact, immediately after neck liposuction we sit our patients upright to ensure adequate fat removal.  At this point there is typically very little swelling.  Then, within days, the swelling begins and takes a week or so to come down again.  We prepare our patients for these swings as it can be disconcerting to see an immediate improvement and then a worsening.
