I had a bbl with lipo of upper and lower abs in December of 2017. As months go by I notice the bump that I was told would go away with massage is still here. At this point I know it will stay forever unless I do something about it but what can I do ? It makes my tummy look uneven and everything is smooth except for this small pocket of fat that sticks out.

Answer: Small area of lower abdominal fullness after liposuction Most likely this is a small area of some residual fat if it is pinchable and soft to the touch. A small, office-based, local anesthesia only, liposuction procedure can remedy that quickly and with no downtime or recovery. If the area is hard it could be scar tissue or a muscular issue and that is dealt with differently. An examination is necessary to know for sure what is the issue and the proper remedy. I hope this was helpful!Thomas Taylor, MD, FACS

Answer: Fat pocket Dear Ashbash91,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. In most cases, this type of problem is solved by a liposuction which will remove the pocket. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
