Hi, thank you for your question regarding liposuction. Full recovery from this type of surgery is 10-14 days, however, you can return to most normal life activities within 3-5 days. We recommend no vigorous activity for 14 days to reduce inflammation, thereby reducing discomfort. You will be in a compression sleeve anywhere from 1-6 weeks depending on your surgeon's preference. You will experience ups and downs in your swelling for approximately 6 months.
I suggest seeing an expert. Liposuction to this area including hi def, takes some time to heal. You want to go to an expert who uses multiple techniques to get the best results. Best, Dr. Emer.
You will be back to daily activity immediately after liposuction. Your surgeon may have some restrictions relative to exercise were the arms are used. In my own practice you would be permitted to return to any athletic activity you wished as soon as it is comfortable.
Liposuction is general has a very fast recovery when done under tumescent local. Most patients are back to work in 2 days and back to the gym in 1 week. The final end results with all lipos are at 6 months but even at 1 month you see a huge improvement.
There may be some bruising that will last for a week or so. It is generally well tolerated with only a few days that will require some pain medication. Find a board certified plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of these procedures and has hundreds of pictures and reviews. Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
Hello,It usually take about 4 days before most people are doing all there daily activities, including driving. You will be sore longer though. Swelling may last for a few weeks to months. Most people are doing all there normal activities in 3 to 4 weeks.Best of luck!
My patients are back to work wishin 2 days. It depends on type of anesthesia and technique and machine used.
Thank you for your question. Every surgery isdifferent, and the healing process will vary based on the individual. Most often you need a few days to recover from liposuction surgery and you will be on pain medication for several days. You should be able to move around normally after a few days and switch over to Tylenol to manage the pain. To speed up recovery,it is important to avoid rigorous exercise for the first 8weeks and not lift heavy items. Good luck on your surgery and remember to follow your surgeon's post operative instructions.
Hi jan041991. Arm lipo is outpatient surgery, so you should be walking and doing regular hygiene, feeding yourself, etc the night of surgery (I.e. no bed rest). You will have swelling for months and may be put in compression sleeves for the first few weeks to help manage this. Generally you don't want to workout for the first 3 weeks. Work restrictions vary depending upon patients' duties. Your plastic surgeon will tell you more depending upon the type of lipo and anesthesia you have. Good luck!
Liposuction of the arms can often be done under a local anesthesia with mild oral sedation and the recovery is quite easy. You will need to wear a compression garment for about a week. Exercise in my patients is forbidden for 10 days so as not to get increased edema or hematomas. Most patients are back to non physical work in about 4 days. Those who do heavy lifting will need about one week off. Some results are seen almost immediately but take up to a few months to see the final results. there is often some bruising for about a week and we ask our patients to stay out of the sun until all bruising is gone.
