How long after rhinoplasty would it be okay to go kayaking and cliff jumping?

You should be able to resume full activity about six weeks  after rhinoplasty.  The activities you describe do have their risks , including nasal injury, but that would be true even if you didn't have rhinoplasty performed.

The ideal time period of avoiding exercise activity after a rhinoplasty is 6 weeks.  The bones are first fully healed at this time and could absorb a shock without having the risk of being displaced.  It also benefits you to not get your heart rate up into the exercise range in the first 4-6 weeks as the increased heart rate (and the resulting elevated blood pressure) will cause additional swelling of the nose that can take months to slowly go away. In essence, this swelling can delay the more refined appearance you hope to have for your nose from your surgery. Dr. B.

I do not recommend contact sports after a rhinoplasty for the first 6 months. Likewise any activity which endangers your result should not be performed.

Patients are urged to avoid strenuous exercise that raises
their pulse rate, including: jogging, aerobics, swimming, working-out, brisk
walking, and sex for a minimum of 3 weeks after surgery. You need to be involved
in your care and follow all of the instructions in order to help diminish
post-operative problems like bleeding. Once exercise is resumed, it is common
for patients to experience temporary throbbing of the nose and swelling which
may last for a few hours.



It is recommended to avoid contact sports or activities like cliff jumping for 4-6 weeks.I would suggest that you discuss your concerns with yoour plastic surgeon who should be certified by the American
Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)

In our practice,  we advise patients not to have any exercise for at least 2 weeks, to prevent a nosebleed. We also asked them to refrain from contact sports for 4-6 weeks after the procedure. It's best to check with your operative surgeon.

In our practice, we advise our patients to refrain from physical activities for 2 weeks following surgery. At that point, they are released to resume 'most' normal activities.  Kayaking is more than likely fine at that point - however, cliff jumping may be questionable.  Please speak directly to your surgeon for his/her recommendations regarding the recovery process.
