In April 2016, I had a blepharoplasty done on both eyes to make my eyelid creases even. By January 2017, the right eyelid and healed well but the left eyelid had left a crater scar on the side of my eye. I had the scar revision done on January 31st and it is now April 6th- the scar looks even worse and more unsightly. I feel self conscious about the scar every day, and cannot help but let the thought of it consume me so I just avoid mirrors now.
Answer: Upper eyelid scar dear patient: thanks for your question and photos! I would consult with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in your area. You are still early in the maturing process of your scar but still I would advise you to make some consult appointments and research your surgeon. You should only consult with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons and make sure they are experts in Facial Plastic Surgery. I have been performing facial plastic surgery for over 18 yrs now and in my opinion you should attend other consultations with other experts in the field that can give you their informed opinion. Hope this helps!

Answer: Starting scar laser treatments can help even out skin texture and tone combined with melarase creams Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Don't waste money on laser resurfacing. First, there was no reason for your surgeon to have extended your upper blepharoplasty incision this far. This needs revisional surgery. This is an opportunity to clean up any other unsatisfactory issues with your surgery.

Answer: Indented scar from blepharoplasty even after scar revision. Eyelid scar tend to be the best on our faces. Did you have difficult problems with would healing? Best to consider getting a second opinion. After a board certified plastic surgeon has had the option to discuss in more detail what has happened and reviewed old records, they would be in a better position to advise you. Peculiar issue. Best wishes.
