My surgeon has advised me not to have sex with my boyfriend until two weeks post-op of my breast augmentation. Not that this has been a too much of a struggle but I'm just curious. What if someone were to do so?

Answer: Why can't I have sex after breast augmentation? Thank you for your question. I advise my patients to avoid cardio, which also includes having sex, for three weeks. This is to reduce your risk of bleeding and increased swelling. It will be worth it to be cautious in the long run!All the best

Answer: Why can't I have sex after breast augmentation? Most doctors (including myself) limit physical activity following breast augmentation to hopefully reduce the risk for complications such as bleeding. Sex is, unfortunately, one of those activities. My personal recommendation to patients is that they limit sex for about 10 days after surgery and then resume...but resume carefully. No swinging from the chandeliers sex for at least 2-3 weeks depending upon healing. Sex is a natural, and healthy, part of life and should be enjoyed. But it should be enjoyed at a time when your are healed enough to not undo the results of your surgery.I hope that helps and wish you the very best!
