Hello thank you for helping. I am only 21 and my breasts are considered 'severe ptosis' according to the chart. My breasts came in/developed this way, the nipple naturally points completely downwards. They are droopy and heavy as appose to normal and round. They have stayed the same since puberty so I am thinking my breasts are naturally very saggy - my question is why? In my case it's not genetic. Do I have a deformity? Is this normal? What type of breast lift would work best for me? Cost?

Answer: Sagging and my options? Hello 334ga. Thanks for your question. Sagging is a normal variation of the breasts and not a deformity or congenital problem. Some people develop with the sagging shape. Obesity, weight loss, pregnancies and aging can also lead to sagging. You appear to be a grade 3 level of sagging, but this can only be confirmed on exam. In my office, patients with similar findings will be recommended an anchor breast lift and implants combination. The breast implants will give you more roundness at the top of the breasts or upper pole. Without breast implants, you're not likely to get the upper pole fullness and cleavage most patients are seeking. You can have a variety of breast implant sizes for you. Cost vary from region to region, so I cannot quote for GA. Best, Dr. ALDO.

Answer: Breast ptosis Ptosis may be, in part, caused by genetics. Massive weight loss and pregnancy/breast feeding are the most common causes. An augmentation/mastopexy would be the appropriate procedure to correct this.
