It has been 4 months since I had liposuction. I am thin, I used to have a lean belly until I decided to have a liposuction for muscle definicion. My belly looks deform, it has many lumps and wrinkles. I am desperate and very depressed. This surgery ruined my body. I had many massages and have been wearing the tight garment since day 1, nothing is working. I want my belly back to normal.
Answer: Post Liposuction Lumps and Irregularity Seeing this is very upsetting. In my experience this is permanent and requires numerous combination treatments with external devices like venus legacy/velashape and z wave. Sometimes fat transfer back to the area is needed or a surgical intervention. I suggest speaking to a body contouring specialist. This should get better over time especialy if you stretch, go into steam rooms and massage, and do the radiofrequency treatments. However, it will take many many months. I am sorry this happened to you, but it is a risk with undergoing hi definition liposuction. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Severe Contour Abnormality after Lipo I am sorry you have had such a complication. The contour abnormalities might improve partially with more time. Unfortunately, I believe you will need either fat grafting or skin excision to improve your results. Liposuction is performed by many specialties, each with their own degree of training and clinical experience. All the Best,Dr. Brian Reagan

Answer: Disfigurement after liposuction Your situation is not good. At four months, your results are permanent, unfortunately.Poorly performed liposuction is difficult, and at times not possible, to correct. This is especially true when liposuction was performed in an aggressive manner, as is the case with etching or muscle definition procedures. The correction options are revision liposuction, fat transfer or skin surgery. In terms of evening out the "valleys" and "mountains" on your body, corrective liposuction can either shave off the top of the mountains or fill in the valleys or both. Revision liposuction is based on evening out contours by removing fat in areas that have thicker layers of while leaving the previous and more aggressively treated areas alone. Fat transfer is a technique where fat is harvested using liposuction equipment and then grafted into areas that were previously over-treated. The problem with using fat transfer to correct excessive liposuction is the lack of tissue in which to graft. In order for fat transfer to be successful, the fat needs to be transferred into some type of tissue bed or tissue scaffolding. When the fat layers are very thin or nonexistent, there's little tissue to in which to graft the fat. As a means of correcting liposuction, fat transfer often requires multiple procedures. Sometimes tightening the skin with a procedure like an abdominoplasty can help even out contours. This is typically only a realistic option for someone who is a candidate for an abdominoplasty in the first place. Based on your pictures, you do not appear to be a candidate for an abdominoplasty. At this point, I will assume you have lost faith in your current provider. I suggest getting a few in-person second opinions. You need to find someone with technical expertise and inherent talent, someone who is willing to spend time with you and who does meticulous work. Look for plastic surgeons who have ample experience with liposuction and fat transfer. What you have gone through is very sad and, I can only imagine, emotionally devastating. My practice is almost exclusively devoted to body contouring using liposuction and fat transfer. Feel free to contact me directly if I can be of any help or answer any further questions.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
