I’ve always had a super round face. I’m currently 5ft, and 122lbs. Even at my lowest weight which was 98lbs, I still had a very round face. I was wonder if buccal fat removal and chin lipo would be beneficial or just chin lipo?

Buccal fat removal and chin liposuction can both enhance facial definition, but they target different areas. Chin liposuction helps refine the jawline and reduce fullness under the chin, while buccal fat removal slims the mid-cheek area.

If your main concern is fullness below the jawline or under the chin, liposuction alone may give you a nice improvement. If your cheeks also feel very round or heavy, combining both procedures can create a more balanced, contoured look — as long as it’s done conservatively to maintain a natural appearance.

The best way to determine which option will benefit you most is through an in-person evaluation, where your facial structure and soft tissue can be assessed in detail.

Hello,Thank you for the photos. We often have patients who are inquiring if they are a candidate for either buccal fat pad removal as well as chin or neck liposuction to sculpt the lower face. In some cases, patients are candidates for both and it makes a really nice difference. You could always start with the buccal fat pad removal and see if that gives you the shape you are looking for. It is tough to assess cheek volume without a head on photo, but you might consider buccal fat reduction if you desire to slim the middle/lower face. Please keep in mind that you lose facial fat volume with age. If buccal fat reduction is done too aggressively or in the wrong candidate, it may lead to an overly hollow appearance down the road. Regarding your chin, you could consider a procedure called submental microliposuction. This is often performed with the patient awake in clinic.
