If a Dr. defines the abdomen as two separate areas and the bellybutton is the line between the two. How far above the bellybutton is considered upper abdomen? A few inches, to the bra line assuming there is fat to be removed, or something else?

Answer: Upper vs lower abdomen The upper abdomen is usually the area above the umbilicus. That said, treating one area in isolation will generally produce uneveness, asymmetry and an overall odd look. The full abdomen needs to be treated to properly blend things in together and prevent sharp contrasts. Best wishes.

Answer: Its All One Area Some of the more "corporate" liposuction clinics separate the upper and lower abdomen for marketing purposes. I have never treated just the "upper" or "lower" abdomen in my surgical practice. Seek multiple consultations before selecting your surgeon. Make sure to include a Board-certified Plastic Surgeon. All the Best.
