Thank you for your question! For my patients having any surgical procedure, I require they stop smoking marijuana and any nicotine products 4 weeks prior to and 6 weeks post surgery. I recommend discussing specific pre and post op instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
Hello!Thank you for the questionsIs strongly recommended to stop smoking at least one month before surgery. This is because smoking (even if is not a cigarretes) could interfeer in your healing process, and also could increase the risks during and after surgery. Ask to youre primary phisician and also to your plastic surgeon before making any decision
hello thank you for your question and provided information as well..Based on your question, the ideal is to suspend all sumetments, vitamins, toxics and drugs and be able to resume it when your doctor authorizes you.I recommend having a consultation in person with your certified plastic surgeon and discuss the issue.
Hi StephRome,It is critical that patients quit smoking all substances before surgery, including marijuana. They can have the same detrimental effects on surgery as nicotine. Smoking is a big no-no after any surgery especially a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), because smoking affects the flow of oxygen and nutrients through the bloodstream, crippling your body’s ability to heal itself. After a BBL, your newly transferred blood cells need to re-establish a blood supply in order to survive and thrive in their new home. Smoking makes it harder for your body to build those new blood vessels and affects the quality of blood those fat cells receive during their recovery. Second hand smoke is just as bad for you, so be sure to avoid smoking areas during your recovery, as well. As always, I recommend you check with your surgeon for their specific recommendations. Thank you,Andrew Jimerson II, MD
Hi. What you should avoid is nicotine cigarettes at least 1 month before surgery to avoid constriction of the blood vessels that carry a lot of complications. Any way contact your PS and ask him about it.International Member of the American Sociey of Plastic Surgery (ASPS)Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS)
