I am 12 days post op and about 8 days post op I started developing a lot of little bumps throughout my whole breast is this normal?
Answer: Changes like this after breast surgery are not uncommon. Thanks for your question and I appreciate your concerns. While I cannot make an assessment from photos alone, I can reassure you that changes like this so soon after breast surgery are not at all uncommon. If they are not accompanied by pain, redness, fever or other symptoms of a possible infection, it is likely nothing to worry about. However, I encourage you to schedule a follow-up with your plastic surgeon if your concerns continue. I would much rather have a patient come in and see me than sit home worrying about something that may or may not be a legitimate concern. Good luck on your recovery!

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear Boooobiiieeesss,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 12 days post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Subtle changes without acute increases in size or pain or skin changes to suggest an infection are best managed with watchful waiting BUT you should make sure you let your surgeon know you are experiencing this so an exam can be done and your surgeon made aware in case things do change in the future.

Answer: Skin changes with breast augmentation It is difficult to appreciate the issue, but swelling after surgery can result in subtle skin changes. Your plastic surgeon would best address this to ensure there is no other issue that may cause this. You should continue to follow up with your doctor to ensure you progress as planned.

Answer: Breast Implants Hi dear thank you for your question. It is normal to experience these issues prior surgery as the tissue has been recently affected, unless you feel sharp pain or certain discomfort, then there is nothing to be worried about. However, keep in mind that if you don't experience or see any changes in terms of the implants whether they are still not settled or the bumps are still there then I recommend consulting your PS to prevent any further complication. Hope this helps and good luck! Dr. Jiménez Toribio Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.
