You will need to be at a stable weight six months following gastric bypass before scheduling any plastic surgery procedures. You will likely need body lift surgery, not lipo, to remove the extra skin and restore contours.

You want to wait until your weight is stable for at least 3-6 months. We normally recommend this so your body is where it's going to be and we can see what areas need lipo and where you may have loose skin. It's a great idea to consult with plastic surgeon as well as discuss your options with your weight loss doctor. Having the procedures within a week of each other wouldn't be recommended.

It is best to wait at least 6 months from when your weight becomes stable after the gastric sleeve surgery before considering body contouring surgery like liposuction for your best results. Don't do liposuction while you are still loosing weight.

There are two issues here.

With successful weight loss you will become less and less of a candidate for liposuction in the first place.

For this reason most plastic surgeons will not offer you liposuction until you’ve maximized your weight loss after gastric sleeve.

The second issue is the port that’s on your abdominal wall that could possibly be damaged during liposuction.

Each plastic surgeon will have their own level of comfort or willingness to do Liposuction with a surgical device in the field of Liposuction.
