Is a tummy tuck not going to work long term for someone who is genetically prone to visceral fat accumulation?

My body type is prone to gain weight as visceral fat despite a healthy BMI. After 3 kids I have a 5cm diastasi recti & need a muscle repair to relieve symptoms. I've had 2 consultations & 1 doctor told me that I should lose visceral fat before the procedure could be done or it might damage the results. I lead a healthy and active lifestyle, so I know that losing it to his standards long term & through menopause in the future is unlikely. What can help me if surgery can't?
