I had a massage today and was face down through most of it. It's been 6 hours later and I still have the lines and major imprints on my forehead from the massage table face and head holder. I do utilize Botox yet it's been a few months since my last injections. My forehead is not returning to normal - the same imprint you have for a few minutes following a massage is still there hours later. Any tips to help this? :)
Answer: Persistent depressions I'm sure by now that your depressions have resolved, and I do not believe that their persistence was related to your botox treatments. However, as we age, our skin does lose elasticity and is less able to rebound to it's smooth soft state. As a consequence of this, lines and wrinkles start to become permanent. Fortunately for you however, you're treating this problem head-on with Botox treatments. Keep it up!

Answer: Botox and lines on your forehead This is probably not the result of the Botox. However, this does bring up an interesting point. Lines in the face get deeper and deeper over time because of loss of skin elasticity. Those lines from the massage table are probably a result of both time and pressure on the table and some continued loss of elasticity in your skin as you age. Similarly, Botox works best in skin that is relatively elastic and in people who have not had decades of deepening wrinkles. The best Botox candidates are between 30 and 50 years old with lines that form while animating their faces but the lines are not extremely deep when their face is at rest. Botox after age 50 will still work in that it will still paralyze the muscles but, depending on skin elasticity, may just soften the lines and not eliminate them. Also, Botox is somewhat preventative in wrinkle formation but should start early and be repeated as soon as the muscle starts working again. Good skin care and sun protection is the best thing you can do to keep your skin smooth.

Answer: Unrelated to Botox most likely There was probably a lot of pressure applied on your face as it lay on the holder, and this is what is causing the imprints. The Botox probably isn't related.

Answer: Botox and Pressure Lines Your Botox treatment is most likely not affecting your facial pressure lines, but the pressure is. Consider adding more padding to the massage tabled.

Answer: Botox Thank you for your question.Prior botox injections should not have any affect on your forehead due to the pressure from a massage table. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
