It is important to have both procedures done by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to ensure it is done safely and correctly. When dermal fillers are injected, they are injected deeper into the skin than the dermapen can reach. I ask patients to have these procedures done 2 weeks apart to minimize any swelling and maximize effectiveness.
Micro needling will not affect your filler. My favorite micro needling technology is Voluderm. By utilizing the radio frequency with the needling the results are quite superior.
Thank you for your question. It is not known exactly when it is safe to have microneedling performed after dermal fillers have been injected. I typically wait a few weeks just to be ssfe. Good luck.
Hi,At my practice I recommend our patients wait a week after injections with fillers like Juvederm, Voluma, Radiesse or Restylane to do their micro needling. Though these dermal fillers go deeper than the fine needles of the micro needle it is always a safe bet to wait. After the micro needling itself the skin is slightly swollen and irritated which makes it a little more challenging to inject fillers. If a patient is on a time crunch or isn't getting an aggressive treatment with the micro needling then I have some flexibility in my approach and can make an exception and do both. These two modalities partner very well together to improve tightening, tone and texture of the skin above and below the surface. As always, I recommend an in-person consultation.

No studies, no structured time frame. I would say at least one week to let the filler settle. All the bestDr Davin LimLaser DermatologistBrisbane, Australia.
