I'm wondering how long the swelling will last? I did not have any filler injected for fuller lips. I was prescribed Prednisone for the swelling.
Answer: Two weeks or less Typically, there may be some swelling for a week or two after treatment. If you still have swelling two weeks after your injection, follow up with your injector.

Answer: Botox and Swollen Lips Thank you for your question. Swelling can last up 2-7 days after a filler injection especially around the lip or lip area. Prednisone will definitely help with the swelling quickly. I would recommend following up with the provider at 2weeks. I hope this helps!

Answer: Botox for treatment of perioral rhytids Due to the volume of the injection, Botox will leave some temporary swelling for about 30 minutes after treatment. After this initial volume diffuses, there should not be any significant swelling. Persistent swelling should be evaluated by your physician.

Answer: Swelling After Botox Hi Jan. I have never had any of my patients experience significant swelling after Botox injections, especially around the mouth for vertical lip lines. This is unusual and I would recommend following up with your injector (who was hopefully a physician) to see if everything is OK. Best of luck.

Answer: Botox and Swelling Sometimes you can get a little fullness because the decreased activity of the muscles doesn’t pump tissue fluid out as well – and most people like that. We also published an article several years ago showing that botox can also increase the amount of lip show; this was without swelling- just relaxation of the pursed lips which pulls the lip inward allows the lip to go back to a more normal position. And I doubt the prednisone will help unless you are having a very rare reaction to the botox – I have never seen that though in the thousands of lips that I have injected with botox.
