I went to my 2nd laser treatment after having what they termed a histamine reaction to the 1st one that left my legs mottled with red spots for weeks. Was told to take an antihistamine regularly between the treatments and Benadryl before coming to the treatment. I did and as you can see from the pictures, I have what my dermatologist diagnosed as 2nd degree burns, and the treatment center still claims is a histamine reaction.

Answer: Severe Burns After Laser Hair Removal This is definitely not a histamine reaction. It is a second degree burn. You need to be under the care of a dermatologist, surgeon, or burn specialist to help this heal with a minimal amount of scarring. I would definitely not trust your current provider for anymore care. Sorry this happened to you.

Answer: Burns after Laser Hair Removal I'm so sorry you are having these problems. Ina ll the years I am doing Laser treatments, I have seen only one Histamine reaction after a Laser hair removal treatment and this is NOT what it looked like. I think you are correct in thinking these are burns. I would not have any further treatments at this site. I would see a physician who has experience treatment burns since infection and scarring are possibilities. If you decide to move forward with laser treatments, I would make sure the physician performing the treatments has experience and is aware of the reaction you already had. Good Luck. Dr. DiPasquale
