Hairs are still present after first laser (SHR/IPL) session. Why has it not gone like waxing?

I had my first laser session of underarms SHR/IPL 2 days back but i notice that my hair qhich were shaved off before session are still present i was expecting hair free skin like after waxing but it wasnt . Is it normal or not ?

Thank you for your question. Laser hair removal works by directing laser energy into the hair follicles, disabling them and preventing future hair from growing. However, each follicle can only be disabled during an active growth phase. That’s why laser hair removal should be performed as a series of treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. This cycle catches different follicles during their growth cycle to gradually disable all or most of them. After hair follicles are disabled, the hair falls out over the following weeks.

Thanks for your question.  You service provider obviously did not give you post-care instructions.  First, it will take a series of treatments to reduce your hair production.  LHR treatments deliver a burst of energy to the hair follicles that are actively growing.  The energy destroys these follicles ability to produce another hair.  The hair shafts in those follicles will release and fall out over the next 1-3 weeks.  Other dormant hair follicles start producing hair every day.  It takes a series of at least 6 treatments to get most the hair growth.  Best of luck.
