You have probably heard about people losing their vision after having fillers around the eyes. This is not a concern with micro needling. Vision loss occurs if a blood vessel is occluded or injected material travels through a vessels to the eye. Nothing is injected with micro needling. PRP can be applied topically as in a Vampire Facial, but this will not cause vessel occlusion. The only way that I can think of that someone would lose their vision from micro needling is if the needle is applied directly to the eye. The practitioner should be mindful of the needle depth when working near the eye. I would recommend very shallow depths like 0.5mm or even 0.25mm when treating close to the eye.
Microneedling is gentle enough for the under-eye area. But as always, contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
Microneedling near the eye area will not cause blindness. It is very important that you see a board-certified dermatologist for microneedling because although it will not cause blindness, microneedling improperly can lead to other complications or be ineffective.
