It is safe to have a second liposuction of the neck, under the chin. I would say that this is usually not necessary, but sometimes it can be beneficial to remove more fat with a second procedure.
Hello, thank you for your question. For the same area, a patient can be assessed after six months. For a different area, it is possible to treat before six months. Consult in person with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon to review your options.
I find that VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates, but Kybella can be used as an alternative and gets better results when combined with Thermage/Ultherapy/Exilis or Coolsculpting. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Secondary liposuction is generally not any more dangerous than a primary procedure. If the procedure is done correctly the first time you should not need a secondary liposuction. If the area is still of concern it may be more related to things other than subcutaneous fat like skin laxity or skeletal structure.Generally speaking secondary liposuction procedures deliver less of an improvement in the primary.if I was going to put a number on it I would say a secondary procedure delivers 20% of the first procedure.each person needs to be assessed to confirm with the primary underlying problem is and to their candidacy for the procedure.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

We do a large amount of chin surgery and it is done by going through the inside of the mouth to contour the soft tissue and bone as necessary. We'd certainly need to see you in person to determine the best course of action. The video below has more information however.
