Chin pad reduction? What can be done about an overly prominent chin pad? (photo)

Question

What can be done about a overly prominent chin pad? I can move the tissue around and it almost looks button like and thick. Feel like im noticed its getting worse as i age. My side profile seems almost flat and long with my chin sticking out kind of like a shelf especially when I smile it's almost like my smile sucks into my face making everything around my smile stick out. I have gotten lip fillers to try to fill the space but my chin still looks prominent

A prominent chin is usually improved by changing the bone and soft tissue. The bone can be shaved or a small wafer of bone can be removed and the chin setback. The soft tissue pad is either reduced and "tucked" under the chin or if the approach was from inside the soft tissue pad can be elevated to re-create a mentolabial fold.

We do a large amount of chin surgery and it is done by going through the inside of the mouth to contour the soft tissue and bone as necessary.  We'd certainly need to see you in  person to determine the best course of action. The video below has more information however.

to get a proper result you’re most likely need skeletal surgery and soft tissue manipulation.It’s a bit involved but definitely doable. You may find oral surgeons to have more experience with this procedure than some plastic surgeons. Consider looking for plastic surgeons who have done cranial facial fellowships.This is complex enough that you should have in person consultations.You may have to call around a bit before finding the right provider.
