Is it safe to have full body lipo-arms, flanks, abdomen, upper back, and inner thighs + breast reduction and labiaplasty?

Hi fiddleleaffig. The answer to safety is best formed with multiple considerations. In Florida, office based surgery limits the amount of fat that can be liposuctioned, the number of hours an outpatient surgery can take,etc. A fitness enthusiast likely doesn't have excessive fat in any one area so the limits of safety likely can be met, as can the length of surgery. The same holds true for a small breast reduction & labiaplasty likely to not exceed physiologic limits/blood loss or require excessive amounts of anesthesia. All of these are considered based upon individual past medical conditions, medications, etc. Your surgeon is the best judge based upon your full history and physical examination-you may consider a second opinion by a surgeon in the same area for peace of mind. we do many area liposuction with breast lifting all the time, you need to be seen in consult to see if all this can be accomplished safetly in one surgery. it maybe you need 2 surgeries and can do the second surgery a few days later.

my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring).

the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after).

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.

Your question is a bit like asking if it’s safe to drive a car on New Year’s Eve.

It sounds like you’re scheduled for quite a bit of surgery but there are many variables to take into consideration. Without photographs or knowing how aggressive the Liposuction is going to be performed it’s hard to give you any kind of answer that is pertinent to your situation.

If the amount of Liposuction is conservative then what you’re signed up for is very typical.

If this is aggressive Liposuction then it may be a bit too much. Most likely if your plastic surgeon scheduled it this way then you should be fine.
