In general, there are not a lot of supplies other than you would normally keep on stock at home (baby wipes, alcohol pads, Q-tips, gauze pads, soft t-shirts or camisoles, loose fitting clothing, bathrobe, socks, slippers, folding chair or recliner, bobby pillow, stool softeners, protein shakes, filled prescriptions) needed for the BBL and lipo 360; I usually give the patient what they need including a compression garment. You should probably ask the surgeon you select as his/her protocols may be different. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Thank you for your questions. In regards to postop protocols and things to have around, your surgeon should be instructing you on this and/or providing these things for you as part of the cost. If your surgeon is not instructing you on what you will need or providing those things for you, then you have chosen the wrong surgeon and you need to start over.Be safe!
Thank you for your question. Some patients buy a BBL pillow. You may bring something comfortable to wear, preferably a loose summer dress, just avoid any pants/clothing that are too tight on the butt.Nausea is a common side effect post surgery so I would recommend buying some over the counter anti-nausea medications as well. You will not be allowed to sit for a period of time post-op so I also recommend buying over the counter stool softeners to ease with your bowel movements (so you are not sitting for too long on the toilet). Please talk to your surgeon for more specific post op instructions as well.Regards,
When prepping for liposuction and BBL, your surgeon will have some specific advice for you. Generally speaking, make sure you are in good health, at a healthy weight for you, and you have adequate support (friend or family to help you) during your recovery. Have some foods around the house that you like. Prepare to be laying on your tummy quite a lot, because normally sitting is restricted. BBL Pillows like are sold online are helpful for some people. Also, just make sure you have spoken with you plastic surgeon about the goals of surgery, the risks and he benefits.
Each surgeon has a slightly different pre op protocol. The following items are recommended in our office: ABD pads, chux pads, Tylenol ES, loose clothing, arnica cream.... we provide garments and pillow. Good luck!

In our practice we gave detailed instructions for before and after care.If you're traveling out of the country for surgery I would recommend getting international medical coverage.People tend to get constipated from taking that kind of pain medication so having lots of fruits and vegetables around or something like Metamucil may be a good idea.Ibuprofen is also helpful after the procedure but this is something you should check with your doctor about.Thorough discussion with your plastic surgeon about their policies in regards to complications and revision to work when needed should always be done before the procedure.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
