Thank you for your question. Every plastic surgeon has his/her protocol based on experience. I used the cut out garment, and found out very quickly (even though it sounds good) that not every butt fits in/out of it correctly. This can leave long term deformities like depressions in the wrong places.
Dear francois09,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
This is the great debate...I like others on here have tried the cut out garment and have switched back to placing patients in the covered garment. I typically have patients wear the surgical compression garment for 2 weeks, then switch into spanx. Because spanx come in so many different sizes and compressions, most patients are able to find one which fits them well without causing deformities in their butts.Best,~Dr. Sieber

Please contact your board certified plastic surgeon to see what kind of procedure you will be having and which garment is most appropriate.
