When performing a BBL, do you use the entire amount of fat that you have liposuctioned or do you separate the fat in some way using only what you consider to be "useable" fat? If you do the latter, do you only use a certain amount of ccs or do you use all of "useable" fat acquired?
Answer: ONLY AROUND 25% OF THE FAT WILL QUALIFY FOR TRANSPLANTATION. Hello Smilexo, It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure is divided into three main steps: Fat Extraction/Liposuction, Fat Purification and Fat Re-Injection. In total, plastic surgeons may remove up to 5 liters of fat during the liposuction (first step of BBL surgery) while carefully sculpturing the patients’ body to ensure optimal aesthetics. After the Fat Purification stage, merely 500cc to 1500cc of that fat will be injected into each butt cheek. Considering that only around 25% of the harvested fat will eventually qualify for transplantation, surgeons will need to be able to collect fat from at least two donor areas to guarantee the transfer only of the best donor fat cells into the buttocks. It’s worth noting that the volume of fat that can be safely injected into the buttock varies from patient to patient, and it will depend on the patient's anatomy, as well as his/her cosmetic goals. Make sure to discuss your expectations with your plastic surgeon before surgery and correct any misconceptions you may have about the procedure and its outcomes. With appreciation, Dr. De La Cruz.

Answer: BBL and processing losses Not all of the fat harvested is transferred. Some of the fat (presumably the lowest quality or least viable) is lost in the processing. The actual percentage is dependent upon the manner in which the fat is processed prior to transfer. Upwards of 50% can be predictably expected to be lost which influences predicted harvest yield. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Answer: How Much Fat is Injected During BBL Surgery.....? I tell all my patients, There are 3 limitations as to how much bigger your buttocks will be.... 1) How much fat you give me to work with? 2) How much fat your Buttocks Holds. And, 3) How much fat survives. So, If you give me a little fat to remove, your butt gets a little fat, most likely with room for more. If you give me a LOT of fat to work with, your butt gets a lot until it's full and the rest gets thrown away. You can't pump it in under pressure or the pressure will diminish the blood flow and you'll lose more fat. And, lastly, how much fat survives comes down to the surgeon and the technique used as well as what the patients do afterwards. If you follow your surgeons recommendations strictly and the surgeon you choose knows what they are doing, you should get a very good result. Choose Wisely! Be sure you choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon (not Cosmetic Surgeon) who has a lot of experience with BBL Surgery. Good Luck

Answer: BBl amount The amount of fat put it is related to how much is available to harvest, what the buttocks require to achieve your goals, and how much the buttock tissues can "handle".
