Banding in neck normal after lipo? (Photo)

I am now 10 weeks post op liposuction under the chin. I developed adhesions causing skin to "tack" down. Aggressively massaged and currently do ultrasound per Surgeon suggestion. I still have lots of banding that is seen in most lighting. Does this usually also go away within about 6 mos like the lumps and swelling? When I look up people can see lots of little lines and ropes just underneath the skin. Plus there's a spongy "pad" where the adhesio was like it turned into a thick layer of tissue.

I am sorry this has happened.  I agree with below, I think that the liposuction was overly agressive or too superficial causing you to get scarring/adhesions as well as cause the platysma to be overly visible.  The treatment for this at the early stages is botox/dysport/xeomin of the neck, massage or radiofrequency (venus legacy/velashape), and injections of triamcinolone + 5FU to any hardness.  I suggest seeking the advice of an expert.  The treatment of this takes someone who is experienced and does this quite often.  You may want a second opinion at this point.  Any surgical intervention should wait till other treatments have been tried.

From the photograph I would wonder if the liposuction was aided by a laser or ultrasound. It looks as though there's been some thermal damage to the skin and subcutaneous tissues.

Thank you for your question.  The fact that you have adhesions causing skin to "tack down" to the underlying muscle would seem to indicate that you had very aggressive liposuction of the neck, removing almost all of the fat that was there.  What you are seeing is quite possibly the medial border of you platysma muscle which is now visible because there is no fat to cover it.  You do need to give things a good six months at least to soften and settle.  If, a that point you still have the bands (looks like there is a smaller one on the left) then you will need to consider options for dealing with them from BOTOX to neck lift.
