Can I Ruin my Rhinoplasty Results if I Smile, Yawn or Laugh After a Couple Days of Surgery?

Moving the face as you describe should not impact your result. In general, I would avoid touching the nose while you are healing. I would recommend speaking with your surgeon regarding any post-operative concerns, as he or she may have a specific protocol they would like you to follow. Smiling and yawning two weeks post-op should not affect your result. Please do not rub or touch your nose as this could alter your result. Please follow up with your surgeon and follow all post-op instructions. Hope this helps and good luck.

Typically laughing or smiling will not affect the results of your procedure. You will have swelling that is normal for the first days after your surgery.

Facial movement such as yawning or smiling should not be problematic unless carried to an extreme or performed suddenly which may cause sutures to give way.  Refrain from touching the nose.

Thank your for the question.  I would not worry too much about smiling or otherwise moving your face hurting your final nose shape.  Of course you should not do anything that you would not be doing ordinarily with your face during your recovery period.  Try to protect the nose as best as you can for as long as you can during the healing process.

Thank you for your question.  In general, best to leave your nose alone and try to avoid facial animation. There are muscles attached to the tip that lowers the tip when you smile.  Also streching the skin attached to the nose is not a great idea either.  The sutures holding the nasal tip cartilages are delicate and best to let the area heal first.
