How many months does fat necrosis takes to go away?

Because mine is 4 months and is still not gone. 6 months now and my fat necrosis is not gone. It looks like a boil and to comes out and heal by itself but it taking too long to stop

Hello! The fat necrosis should be gone by 3 months post op, this fat is reabsorbed by the body and it's the natural process of it. In the case it's not going away, you should consult it with your doctor, but it should be gone by then.

Fat necrosis is permanent, but inflammation related to the body‘s reaction of necrotic tissue should resolve within a few months.
Patients who have significant palpable, fat necrosis may have firmness and lumps that will not go away. If there’s redness and inflammation, then you may need intervention. I suggest you follow up with your plastic surgeon and get their insight and guidance.
