Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. While scar remodeling can continue to occur with time, if you are not pleased with your scar then a discussion should be had with your treating provider on methods to improve the appearance. We typically recommend 6 months to a year prior to revision depending on the location as well as other additional factors.
