I’ve had subcision procedure in the past. I was wondering what other options are available to improve my acne scars. Thank you
Answer: LaseMD Ultra or venus viva is recommended Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: TCA CROSS Works Well For Ice Pick Scars, NarrowBased Boxcar Scars & Dilated Pores A close-up photo would have been very helpful. However, from what I can see the majority of the scars are of the ice pick variety or very narrow-based box car scars--both types amenable to TCA CROSS and inappropriate for subcision. In general for the vast majority of individuals an average of three to four treatment sessions would be necessary to achieve a 60-80% overall improvement in appearance. One session to achieve that degree of improvement would only be possible for a small number of lucky Lotto winners. i have personally been performing TCA CROSS for well over two decades. It is a relatively inexpensive technique that has a proven track record for both safety and efficacy in all skin types. Make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist experienced in this procedure, since nowadays there is so much media hype to promote the use of expensive fraxel lasers and RF devices, whose actual hard science to support their use lags woefully behind the heavy marketing to promote them. Hope this helps and best of luck. .
