Ptosis surgery and poor symmetry outcome - what options do I have for a revision or correction? (Photos)
Hello, I am seeking advice regarding a ptosis surgery I underwent over two years ago. Since the very beginning the result has been asymmetrical and highly problematic for me. My right eye immediately appeared unnaturally wide open, exposing too much of the iris and giving the impression that I am constantly looking sideways, even though I am not. This creates an expression that people notice and often comment on. While one eye looks natural and relaxed, the other appears pulled up and artificial. During the initial healing phase, when perhaps some correction could have been attempted, I was unable to get in touch with the surgeon as the clinic was closed for the holidays. Later, I was only advised to do traction exercises, which made no real difference. Despite repeatedly raising my concerns, the doctor minimized the issue. At my last visit, he dismissed it, suggesting it was due to bone structure or neurological causes—something I find very hard to believe, since the asymmetry only appeared after surgery. I spent over €10,000 on this procedure and now live with a look that causes me constant psychological discomfort and negative attention. I am planning to consult another specialist, but before I proceed, I would like to hear if anyone here has had a similar experience and what options for revision or correction might exist.
