Is it normal I have a tight band in my arm several months after miraDry?

I got MiraDry about 3-4 months ago. I had a tight band in my arm right after the procedure. That went away after a few weeks. Now the tight band has returned worse than before. I can feel it running all the way down to my hand and it causes pain when I extend my arm too far. Is this normal? Will this go away? Is there anything I can do to help this go away?

Thank you for your message! Tight banding is a possible side effect of the miraDry procedure. Our office actually implemented a stretching regimen to help prevent this from happening, though it tends to be a rare finding. Gentle stretching of the area and massage the the band usually will help minimize it or help it resolve. I would definitely follow up with your provider who can even contact the miraDry company for further recommendations!

Sorry to hear about this. While this is not the usual finding, it can on rare occasion happen. Speak with your provider. There are a variety of stretching exercises which can be recommended to help this. Best of luck, Dr. M
