If miraDry didn’t work the first time, would a second round just be a waste of money?

I haven't heard of worsening of sweat after a MiraDry procedure. However, it is not uncommon to need a second treatment about 6 months after the first treatment as a lot of the statistics from the company are based on 2 treatments. If you choose not to get another treatment, Botox can also be injected every 3-6 months to help with excessive sweating. 

We've found that with miraDry, most people notice a significant reduction in underarm sweat, hair and odor (on average around 60-80%) with one treatment. Some it's completely gone, and others need a second treatment. The odds that anyone would need a 3rd are extremely rare. miraDry is a great procedure and our patients love it!

It is unusual for you to have worse sweating after MiraDry. I have not seen this happen to my patients, but we always treat at level 5. I would suggest you discuss your concerns with your treating physician and consider having an iodine-starch test to assess where your remaining sweat glands are located.Alternative treatments for hyperhydrosis include botox and special deodorants.
