Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 24 to 48 hours after facelift surgery. I wish you all the best.
Good question. We see a lot of out of state patients. If everything is healing well than after 7-10 days a patient can fly back home. I take the sutures out I'm 7 days so it allows us to remover the patients sutures and assess the healing.
This is something to discuss with your surgeon. For my patients, they are usually able to travel 7 to 10 days after surgery. I keep in touch via phone and/or Skype for follow up care. Good luck.
My patients usually fly out of town after 7 to 10 days. Only concern is to get sutures out. My only concern is 2 weeks before exercising. Just make sure your surgeon is aware if your plans.
I have had patients fly 5 days after a facelift without problems. My English patient did very well. We would all like to see our patients at 7 to 10 days after surgery and a month after surgery as well. I have had patients send me photographs after leaving town that are less then the standard we are used to taking. No real issue with traveling in the air in a pressurized cabin. A WWI vintage plane that does not have pressurized cabin controls are another story. Good luck...
Thank you for your question. This will depend on the anaesthetic which you have had. After local anaesthetic you can fly the day after however any general anaesthetic, we advise 6 weeks.
Thank you for your note. I have many patients that travel in and out of Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra for surgery. I allow our patients to travel after 10 days, at which time 60% of their swelling is reduced and they can be in the air. The pressure changes should not affect the results in any way.Good Luck
You can fly in a plane after a week. Sutures should come out. The altitude will not impact your face. You just need to consider how comfortable you are traveling so soon after surgery.
The travel schedule after a facelift is largely dependent on your surgeon's plans and comfort level with travel. Not every facelift is the same, and not every patient is the same, so there is not a clear answer. Most of us have preferences, and I generally ask my patients to plan on being in town for 10 days after surgery, though this may be lower for people getting less surgery or more for patients that I expect to have a longer recovery. Good luck!
It would be best to stay in town for a minimum of seven to ten days. Little things can be managed more precisely and in doing so prevent an issue that could have been minimized or avoided. After an appropriate interval flying should not be a problem. During the patient's initial consultation we address the follow up protocol for the facelift procedure and take into account any travel plans whether for vacation or a return home.
