Answer: Liposuction results To make an assessment on the outcome of an operation we need to see proper before and after pictures. Without before pictures we don’t have a reference to what you used to look like so there’s no way to know what impact the surgery had. If you don’t have before and after pictures ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took. Your pictures show a moderate amount of skin laxity on your back which is pretty common especially for people who have been overweight or of had weight fluctuations. Your abdomen shows exes this role or intra-abdominal fat which can only be lost through weight loss. Your abdomen shows exes this role or intra-abdominal fat which can only be lost through weight loss. It’s also very important to know if someone has maintained their weight, got up and weight or lost weight since the date of surgery when assessing liposuction results. It’s not uncommon for people to gain weight after liposuction. The brain seems to want to compensate for the fat removed. Even in aggressive procedures when surgeons may take out up to 10 pounds it’s not uncommon for patients to come back six months later weighing exactly the same which means they gained 10 pounds. In order to see the best results from Liposuction patients need to do their part and lose weight On top of the procedure. Individuals with visceral fat should have this explained during in person consultations so they have a clear understanding what can and cannot be achieved with the procedure. That the same is true for having a clear understanding of skin laxity on the back. Loose skin often looks and feels like fat and definitely contributes to body contour but cannot be treated with Liposuction. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
