Hello,There are no exercises necessary for proper healing after breast augmentation, nor are there any straps or wraps that have ever been shown to be effective. Recommendations to massage, wear straps, or use special bras have no scientific data to support them. Looking at your photo, you look like you have good positioning of your implants, and that your tissues are still very tight, and, believe it or not, swollen. Over time you will 'drop and fluff', which will make your breasts appear fuller (and possibly closer together). They will also be much softer and mobile. A year from now you will be able to wear a bra that easily pushes them together, or likewise push them together with gentle pressure by crossing your arms. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how they will change.Best of luck!
If the doctor takes too much muscle off the sternum, the implant will indeed sit further toward the center. However, once removed, that muscle can never be fully repaired and replaced. This can lead to artifact when the patient uses their muscle (the muscle literally 'jumps' when the patient reaches forward. So, as with so many things in plastic surgery, be careful of what you wish for...
Hi Jadedele,Thank you for your question regarding your breast implants. 1) I would suggest you wear a "bandeaux". This is a strap that goes on top of your breasts. This strap comes as just a strap or can be attached to a bra. The strap puts passive pressure on the top of the breast implant and pushes the breast implants down. I would suggest you wear this all the time. 2) I would avoid an exercises that involve your pectorals muscle. That means no lifting, no pushing, no pulling. I would not do any bench pressing!!3) I would start with breast implant exercises. This involves pushing the breast implant to expand the walls of breast capsule. I would push the implants down with the palm of your hand and hold this for about 15 seconds. I would push the implants toward the center of your chest by placing your hands on the outside of your breasts. I would do these exercise for fifteen repetitions twice a day. Good luck and thank you for your question regarding breast implant riding high after breast augmentation.
A breast augmentation will not change the gap. I expect your implants will continue to settle with more time. Regards,
I don't honk that there will be a big difference in the gap but the implants will drop and look slightly more natural over time.
I would expect that your implants will continue to drop. I would have you do certain exercises and avoid constrictive bras but you should really check with your own surgeon who knows you best.
Most of the time after breast augmentation the cleavage is not as defined as a patient may wish even if portion of the medial pectoralis muscle is released. Most women tend to wear bras that slightly push in especially if they shop at Victoria Secret. This will soften and relax the medial pectoralis muscle gradually and move the implants closer. When the cleavage is closer the patient should stop wearing bras that push inwards as breasts can look flattened on the outside and cleavage becomes too close. External pressure will cause gradual changes to the internal pocket over time. Also the shape of the woman's chest will also affect which way the implant falls. If the woman has a pectus deformity which has the central portion of the chest being caved in then the implants will tend to fall towards the midline. If the ribs are angled away from the midline laterally the implants will tend to fall away from the cleavage area as the breasts settle. In this case its important to wear a bra with good lateral and inferior support to maintain good cleavage.
Breast augmentation gap will not change; you have implants with a specific diameter which have resulted in the beautiful mounds created for you. I don't find your gap unattractive though. Please see link below for examples.
There are many theories as to what causes capsular contracture and many of today's techniques try to prevent it - such as using an incision in the fold, placing the implant under the muscle, and bathing the implant and pocket in antibiotics. In many patients it is not known why they develop...
Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. You may be an excellent candidate for breast augmentation surgery. Exact end results and cup sizes are usually quite difficult to calculate as everyone has a different starting point. It is important to have an in-person assessment regarding your concerns as it...
From your description, you may have somewhat of a constricted breast, and in these cases, it is necessary to lower the breast fold. Otherwise, the implant will sit too high on the breast itself. A photo would help determine the exact course. You should see a board-certified plastic surgeon in ...
