Right (Dominant Side) Won't Drop, 4 Weeks Post Op, Is That Normal?

Question

I am 4 weeks post op, my right breast was smaller pre op , my doctor put 210 cc in both breasts and said he would even out the difference because I also had a breast lift. My left breast dropped about a week ago , overnight, my right one not so much , it also appears smaller so I am worried. will it eventually drop?

You are one month after surgery. You have at least two months to continue to heal. The implants will settle. Your breasts shape will reveal itself at that time. Best Wishes.

Although your concerns regarding breast asymmetry are understandable, patients who undergo breast augmentation/lifting surgery should understand that it may take several months before the final outcome of the procedure performed is visualized. There are many factors involved with this operation, as opposed to breast augmentation surgery alone.

	 Of course, your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to diagnosing problems that may cause breast asymmetry.

You are very early in your healing phase at only 4 weeks. Because everyone is different, breast shape and size can change anywhere from 3-6 months so try to be patient, I know it's hard. At around the 6 month mark, re-evaluate and if you are still unhappy, go over your options with your surgeon then. ac

You are very early in the postop process.  Don't rush to judgment, continue to followup with your plastic surgeon and see what happens in the next couple of months.  Healing is a process and often one side heals at a different rate than the other.

After placing breast implants and tightening the skin with a lift, your tissues need to change to mold to their new shape. This includes stretching of the tissue that's there, as well as growth. Growth takes more time, up to 3 - 6 months. At four weeks out, you're still early in this process. Patience is a virtue here.

You are still too early in your post operative course to determine if you will have problems with symmetry. Continue to massage the breasts and give more time. It is non unusual for one side to drop faster that the other.

4 WEEKS is a short period after a mastoplasty , still at this time the implant is accomadating , and the skin is still to tight , after , 4 to 6 month things start changing , in shape and drop , because the skin releases , So still be patient this wont be your final results, if after this period you are still unsatisfied then is a good time by then to talk to your doctor ,

Since you are only 4 weeks post op, give it some time.  After you have healed, if your breast are uneven, you will need to discuss breast revision with your Plastic Surgeon.
